Wow, what a night. A packed Chapman Theatre in Lytham was the venue for our 10th anniversary show.
We were joined by family, friends, our superfans (you know who you are) and, rather wonderfully, about 25 people who’d chosen that night as their very first Shanty Crew night. You certainly timed it well.
There was an intro from our founder Joel Wrigley. Ex crewmate Elizabeth Young performed ‘Sing it true you Salty Crew’ by local poet Willa Finch (and we’re still beyond chuffed that someone took the time to write a poem about us). Anna Shannon, writer of several songs that have become Shanty Crew staples, joined us. And Joel and Chris Simmons (another ex-crewmate) joined us onstage for the encore.
And the best thing of all? We get to do it all again at our next sold out gig on January 30th.
